ST. MARTIN BOYS WIN FIFTH STRAIGHT GAME
The St. Martin boys ran their win streak to five straight games Wednesday night.
The homestanding Yellow Jackets beat Laurel 68-64 in the final day of action in their on Joe Barlow Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament.
Trey Kennedy tallied a game high 18 points to pace SMHS, and he also added seven rebounds and six assists. Daetren Bivens added 17 points, which included four 3-pointers , while Jariyon Wilkens finished with 14 points to the winning effort. D.Q. Gaudin recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, who swept all three games in the event this week, and Tim Downs distributed six assists.
Laurel is the defending Class 5A state champs, but the Golden Tornadoes are without several key players who are still playing football.
St. Martin, now 7-2 on the season, returns to action Tuesday against West Harrison.
