ST. MARTIN GIRLS PICK UP A WIN
Both the St. Martin girls and the Pascagoula boys picked up wins on the hardwood during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets wrapped up a busy week with an exciting 37-36 win over Terry High Saturday in the annual Mississippi Hoops Challenge Thanksgiving Showcase at Pearl High School.
St. Martin junior standout center Daphane White was named the games Most Valuable Player, as she scored a game high 18 points and she also grabbed eight rebounds and blocked eight shots. Paola Torres chipped in 12 points to he winning effort as well, and Shania Wheeler dished out five assists while Nyjarra Avant added five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
The Lady Yellow Jackets, now 5-4 overall, played four games in six days during the holiday week going 2-2. St. Martin faces West Harrison Tuesday in both girls and boys action.
